Cookie Policy

Last updated: May 12, 2026  ·  Contact: privacy@operiq.ai

This Cookie Policy explains how Operiq AI ("Operiq," "we," "us," or "our") uses cookies and similar technologies when you visit our website or use our platform. By continuing to use our services, you consent to our use of cookies as described here.

1. What Are Cookies?

Cookies are small text files stored on your device when you visit a website. They help websites remember your preferences, maintain your session, and gather analytics. We also use localStorage — a browser-based storage mechanism — to retain your session state in the Operiq dashboard.

2. Types of Cookies We Use

CategoryPurposeDuration
Essential Required for the platform to function. Includes session tokens and localStorage data for your dashboard login. Cannot be disabled. Session / Until logout
Analytics Helps us understand how visitors use our landing page. We use a privacy-respecting visitor ID stored in localStorage to count unique visits without tracking personal identity. 1 year
Functional Remembers your preferences such as widget color, personality preset, and voice settings in the dashboard. Persistent (localStorage)

3. Third-Party Technologies

We use the following third-party services that may set their own cookies or tracking technologies:

We do not use Google Analytics, Facebook Pixel, or any advertising-network tracking cookies on the Operiq dashboard.

4. localStorage in the Dashboard

The Operiq dashboard uses browser localStorage to store your session data (user ID, business API key) between visits. This is not a cookie but behaves similarly. You can clear this by logging out or clearing your browser's site data. Clearing localStorage will sign you out of the dashboard.

5. Managing Cookies

You can control cookies through your browser settings:

Note: disabling essential cookies or clearing localStorage will prevent you from staying logged into the dashboard.

6. The Embeddable Widget

When Operiq's chat widget is embedded on your website, it uses a random session ID stored in the visitor's browser (sessionStorage) to maintain conversation continuity. No persistent tracking cookies are set by the widget. The widget does not use third-party advertising cookies.

7. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Cookie Policy to reflect changes in our practices or applicable law. We will notify you of material changes by updating the "Last updated" date and, where appropriate, by email.
